Well it’s final four weekend and my cake for the week was an AIR Jordan 3 Retro shoe sitting on it’s box. This was the first time I’ve made a shoe and to date definitely one of my coolest cakes. I had so much fun working on it and wish I had more time to add even more detail and measure instead of eyeball. I was scared that it wouldn’t turn out and would end up on one of my favorite blogs (cakewrecks.com), but I think I’m in the clear for that, unless your feeling a Sunday Sweet Jen! 😉
So without further ado, I present to you the AIR Jordan 3 Retro shoe and shoe box cake…
SEE PHOTOS BELOW FOR STEP BY STEP
Supplies Used: Cake, Marshmallow Fondant (homemade), Butter cream (for the glue layer to hold the fondant on), sugar paper (the Air Jordan logo cutout – I just printed a stencil on cardstock photo and used and Xacto knife to cut it out), Edible Marker (to draw the elephant print on the shoe and box), Gumpaste (for the tongue and heal so they hold their shape)
Photos of some of the steps; I didn’t take as may as I would have liked, but this should give you a good idea of the process and steps put into making this cake.
