Baby: Jungle Nursery
This room was created 2.5 years ago before my first son, Jackson, was born. We bought our first house in May of 2010 and Jackson was born in August. It was the first room we painted in our all white home. I wanted to have it done in time for the baby of course. We didn’t find out the gender so we wanted a neutral theme. Animals were of course, perfect!
I had always wanted to have elaborately painted rooms for my kids. I thought it would be so much fun to live in the jungle, under the sea, or now that I have boys, in a construction zone. I have always figured I’d change their rooms once every 4 years. So with the boys being too young to ask for what they want, the first two rooms, I got to choose, and below is room #1. What was once Jackson’s nursery is now Hayden’s. Welcome to the Jungle Baby!
Supplies: One Crafty/Artistic Mother, Paint / Brushes, Patience and Time, lots of time.
My mom is great, she drew everything on the walls in pencil and I painted it. We worked as a team and did it all in two weeks’ time. It was a full family affair; my mother-in-law joined in by painting the giraffe. It was a fun project and turned out GREAT! Definitely took a lot of time, especially with a big ole bump on your belly. Big shout out to the hubby to for the nice white trim and base coat of blue!
